Along with other districts and boroughs, Broxbourne Borough Council held elections on 4 May 2023, with a third of councillors up for election.

With such a strong majority in place, it was mathematically impossible for the Conservatives to lose the authority. However, the lack of any change is perhaps surprising given the results elsewhere across Hertfordshire and the Home Counties.

The state of the parties following 10 councillors being up for election is:

• Conservative: 27 seats (0)
• Labour: 3 seats (0)

Council leader, Lewis Cocking (Conservative, Wormley and Turnford) did not face re-election.
