All-Out Elections
Following the all-out elections in Chelmsford, Liberal Democrats retained control of the council – which they have led since 2019.
Leader of the Council, Cllr Stephen Robinson was comfortably re-elected as the Liberal Democrats increased their majority with gains in Moulsham Lodge and Broomfield and the Walthams.
After the election, the political composition of the council is as follows:
- Liberal Democrats – 33
- Conservatives – 21
- Independent – 3
Chelmsford will hold its AGM on Wednesday, 24th May.
