Guildford
All-Out Elections
Following all-out elections in Guildford, the Liberal Democrats have gained control of the council for the first time since 1997.
The Leader of the Council, Julia McShane (Lib Dem) and Deputy Leader, Joss Bigmore (R4GV) both won re-election in their respective wards. Residents for Guildford and Villages saw their number of councillors halved – with the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats benefiting from their declining vote share.
The political composition of the council is now as follows:
- Liberal Democrats – 25
- Conservative – 10
- Residents for Guildford and Villages – 7
- Guildford Greenbelt Group – 3
- Labour – 3
