Norwich
Only-one third of councillors were up for election in Norwich City Council.
The authority remains a Labour stronghold, with Labour maintaining a clear majority. Nonetheless, the Green Party took two seats from Labour to increase their number of councillors from 11 to 13. The Green Party will be pleased to have eaten into the Labour majority, with the Green Party pleased to be picking up extra seats like this nationwide.
The 2023 elections results were as follows:
Labour – 23
Green Party – 13
Liberal Democrats – 3
Alan Waters, Leader of the Council, was standing down at these elections so we expect an announcement in the coming days on who his successor will be.
