All-Out Elections
Following all-out elections in Surrey Heath, Liberal Democrats have gained control of the council for the first time.
The Conservatives saw their vote collapse as they lost 12 councillors in total, leaving them with just 6 seats. The Lib Dems now boast a 10-seat majority in Michael Gove’s parliamentary constituency.
The political composition of the council is now as follows:
- Liberal Democrat – 21
- Conservative – 6
- Independent – 3
- Labour – 2
- Vacant – 3 (Frimley Green ward was countermanded and will not take place on 4th May)
