Three Rivers
Elected in Thirds
Following the elections of one third of their councillors, the Liberal Democrats have retained control of Three Rivers District Council.
After a net loss of one seat, the Lib Dems will commence the new council year with a total of 22 councillors.
The total distribution of seats on the council is as follows:
- Liberal Democrats: 22 seats
- Conservatives: 11 seats
- Labour: 3 seats
- Green: 2 seats
- Independents/Others: 1 seat
The Greens added a second councillor in the Dickinsons ward following their first victory in 2022.
Across the district, no wards elected a different party to the elections last year, meaning that any political realignment in Three Rivers is happening at a slower pace than the dramatic changes seen elsewhere in the country.
